North Island VenturesCheck size: $500K–$5M for early-stage companies, according to NIV's current portfolio page. This is the firm's published range, not Kushagra's personal approval limit.
Kushagra invests within NIV's abundance-meets-scarcity framework across agentic finance, sovereign AI, new markets and frontier institutions. His mix of liquid-crypto research, venture scouting and payments product work is particularly relevant to projects that must connect token economics and market structure to a usable product, although NIV has not published an individual mandate for him.
NIV seeks the three I's—extraordinary intelligence, sustained intensity and unquestionable integrity—plus genuine non-consensus conviction and a mission personal to the founder. Product and liquid-market experience suggest a useful pitch should connect technical novelty with real behavior, incentives, distribution and market economics; that last emphasis is an inference, not a quoted personal criterion.
No personal pass list is published. Firm-level inference: founders following an obvious trend without independent conviction, teams that fail integrity or endurance checks, AI products without a scarce or defensible complement, token systems disconnected from useful behavior, and products unable to show why a new enabling technology produces a step-change rather than a cosmetic feature.
Approach through a verified NIV channel. Lead with the newly possible capability, the scarce asset that compounds and the founder's personal reason for persisting. Show the actual product flow, user evidence, payments or token economics, distribution and downside risks. For agentic finance, explain identity, authorization, settlement and fraud controls; for open AI, explain sovereignty, privacy, compute and performance tradeoffs.
Identify what becomes commoditized as intelligence gets cheaper and the trust, liquidity, sovereignty, distribution or physical asset that remains scarce.
Assess extraordinary intelligence, sustained intensity and unquestionable integrity through operating evidence and references.
Connect a useful product workflow and target user to market structure and token incentives; reject systems where any one side exists only to support the others' narrative.
Specify the new capability and why it unlocks an experience or business model that was not previously viable.
